Tattoo Bans And Arrests In Japan - Sign The Petition For Change

Did you know that tattooed people are banned from certain places in Japan, and that confusing licensing laws lead to tattooist arrests?

"There has been an increase in tattoo artists being arrested..."

Japanese tattooing is a sophisticated technique and artistry that is admired all around the world.

But in Japan, tattoos are often aligned with organised crime, and so many places, mainly spas and public baths, have a ban on people with tattoos entering.

There has also been an increase in tattoo artists being arrested, due to misinterpretation and confusion around licensing and laws.

One artist who experienced this is Taiki, who has now formed Save Tattooing In Japan and is fighting for change.

A recent video from MasterPiece Tattoos (Cover Up) explains all.

According to Japan Today, 56% of hotels in Japan bar visitors with tattoos from bathing facilities.
