Fine Artists Take On Tattoos: Monica Ramos

Stories
This week’s featured fine artist is the insanely adorable, insanely quirky Monica Ramos.
With tons of awesome projects under her belt, the Manila born, Brooklyn living artist’s light-hearted work is kind of hard not to love. She has worked with huge names like Coach, Converse, Rookie Mag, Hunter Boots, Urban Outfitters, The New York Times, and tons more- and for good reason. Her work is totally unique and absolutely fucking adorable.
While most of her work features super cutesy things like flowers, animals, and fashion-driven watercolor illustrations- one series in particular caught my eye…
This tiny series appropriately titled “Fat Tats” is literally just that. Delicate, watercolor bodies featuring tattoos of fatty foods. Sticks of butter? Cheeseburgers? Bacon? Pie? So funny and so goddamn delicious. My mouth is literally watering, and my Cup of Noodles dinner is seeming pretty inadequate right about now.
The collection is small, but I can guarantee it’ll give you a chuckle. Check out these awesome knuckle tats. To be honest, I think I prefer “PORK BUNZ” over “LOVE HATE”..
So, take a look at Ramos’ awesome, fatty tattooed paintings and be sure to head over to her website to see what else she’s got going on!
