Valentina Ryabova is killing it both in front of the camera and behind the tattoo machine! The Russian tattoo model may have only been tattooing since 2013 but she's already acquired skills that can match up to the roost of skilled tattoo artists in the scene when it comes to her forte, color realism. “I wasn't afraid to do something that preferably considers to be men prerogative,” she told Skin Artists, opening up about being a woman – a model at that — entering a line of work that's previously regarded as a “man's territory” like tattooing.

While tattooing nearly swallowed most of Valentina's time, she still allots time for hobbies like shibari, an ancient Japanese artistic form of rope bondage. She still models, too but claims that it has become a hobby since picking up tattooing full-time.

Valentina sets her works apart from other talented tattoo artists by laying down standards and particular themes with her works. Many of her works, I've noticed, are macabre in nature. This is due to popular client demand which comes as a delight to her as she's a fellow fan of some of the gore films her clients brings in for reference. Talk about a win-win situation.
