All it took was one piece of artwork by Adams Carvalho @adamscarvalho to convince me that he's one talented artist that's on to something. Carvalho is an illustrator from Sao Paulo, Brazil who relishes in the rough and raw style of sketch style blackwork digital drawings. The first illustration by Carvalho that I've ever seen and led me to scurry into the web for more features a chin length-haired girl with her back turned and vibrant Japanese style tattoo sleeves. Everything else on the drawing paled in comparison to her colorful sleeves.
I was intrigued. What I found out from Carvalho did not disappoint. The rest of his illustrations depicted more tattooed women with nonchalance painted over their faces and a rebellious streak emanating from the way they were drawn. Some may see Carvalho's works as sexualized but these women seem to not give a bloody care in the world and would probably kick you in the shins if you even think of laying a finger on their tattooed skin. Now, that's the kind of art we'd like to see more of.
