This UK-based travel company will pay to have your drunk holiday tattoo removed.
Tim Howell-lves, Director of UniTrips, is providing a new angle to student travel with his latest holiday package entitled Magaluf Invasion. Magaluf is of course the ultra touristy resort located on the island of Majorca, where many young travellers get wasted for the weekend and decide that it could be cute to get a new tattoo. If you book a holiday with Magaluf Invasion, and while on vacation get a tattoo you regret, the company will actually pay for you to have it removed.
Howell-Ives said the idea came from his own experiences working in Magaluf and witnessing first-hand the drunken mistakes young people were making there.
Of course all of us make mistakes, but the downside of a tattoo is that it is designed to be permanent. That’s what some people fail to comprehend, especially when they’ve had way too much to drink and are in a care-free holiday mood.
I was given the opportunity to have a small chat with Tim from Magaluf Invasion. As he was explaining the concept of their company, he said “Our initiative is to prevent young people from getting a tattoo they later regret".
Anyone who has watched the British television series Tattoo Fixers, will know that holiday tattoo regrets are a huge issue here in the UK. Getting a stupid, regrettable tattoo whilst in a cheap resort abroad is becoming more and more common, and it's the artists back here who have to fix the drunken mistakes. You can read more about the show here.
Tim went on to clarify, "We are highlighting the negative aspects and potential implications of getting a tattoo whilst on holiday, such as misspelled words and dodgy design work. Hopefully we can put young people off the idea of getting a tattoo to begin with unless they have really thought about it, rather than make a rash in-the-moment decision whilst intoxicated”.
Let's just enjoy the sun, sea and sand.
Tattoos and sunburn, ouch.
Haha love this tattoo by Camille Lespérance.
Ummmm.
Keep calm and remove your tattoo, the perfect slogan for this company's offering.
