Following an interactive exhibition at FACT, Liverpool, actor Shia LaBeouf marks the memorable experience with a tattoo.
Artistic project #TOUCHMYSOUL (by LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner) took place at FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) in Liverpool (UK) from 10 to 13 December 2015.
Over the period of four days, the three artists were situated in a gallery space during opening hours, asking members of the public to telephone them and “touch their soul”. The whole project was then broadcast live.
As #TOUCHMYSOUL came to an end, a captivating phrase was taken from one of the telephone calls and tattooed on LaBeouf by Rönkkö.
The phrase… “You. Now. Wow.” – a fitting quote considering the purpose of the project and its ambition to encourage personal connection.
The exhibition drummed up a huge community, sense of purpose and connectivity between people all over the world, all resulting in a moving tattoo that was shared with and understood by others…
In terms of artistically showing the world why chose to get tattooed, I’d say the trio certainly hit the mark.
