Scott Campbell To Be Showcased at Lazarides Gallery

The acclaimed artist's experiment with mystery tattoos heads overseas.

Tattoo artist Scott Campbell is one of the most sought-after maestros of the craft. The Louisiana native has inspired many unique and innovative tattoo concepts that have captivated the world, and now one of his most famous experiments will head overseas to the Lazarides Gallery.

During London's Frieze Week (October 7-9 in Convent Garden), Campbell will be reprising his Whole Glory exhibition. What is Whole Glory, you ask?

What Whole Glory looks like.

Whole Glory is a creative experiment that sees people, selected at random, put their arm through a hole in the wall, to be tattooed by Campbell on the other side. Campbell and the recipient of the tattoo have no communication, no prior contact before the arm is tattooed, and it provides an entirely unique and mysterious experience for those involved.

Campbell explains, "It’s a chance for people to not take their physical selves so seriously, and take part in an exchange of faith that will literally change who they are for the rest of their life."

Campbell will be tattooing a variety of designs on the people who stick their arms through that hallowed hole. He has stated that he will tattoo anything he feels like the arm needs, and the designs range from skulls, to roses, to more abstract ornamental pieces.

Campbell is not only gifted with a tattoo machine but he works in many different mediums. He is a sculptor, painter, and an innovative visual artist. His art has been featured in many different exhibitions and he is considered one of the brightest artistic talents in New York City.

Perhaps his most distinguishable pieces are his sculptures that have been carved out of U.S. currency, and his graphite drawings on the inside of egg shells.

Campbell's exhibitions have been featured across the world, including places like Monaco, Singapore, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, he has a long list of celebrity clientele including Marc Jacobs, Orlando Bloom, and the late Heath Ledger.
