Artist Spotlight: Avalon Westcott

Melbourne-Based Tattoo Artist and Hopeless Lingerie Muse

The first time I saw Avalon Westcott was in a campaign shoot for the wildly popular Hopeless Lingerie, an Australian brand that’s been taking the lingerie world by storm. To say I was floored by her beauty would be an understatement, girl is like a porcelain doll come to life, and then I started lurking her Instagram. Turns out, she’s a wildly talented tattoo artist based out of Melbourne’s Grand Illusion studio that also happens to model for one of the most coveted lingerie brands on the planet. You know, casual.

Although Westcott has only been tattooing since 2013, she’s been illustrating flash art for quite some time. Favoring animals, floral motifs, and vintage inspired pieces, her style leans traditional with some neo-traditional influences and highly feminine color palettes.

Serving as the unofficial Hopeless muse, Westcott has starred in numerous campaigns for the indie lingerie company, and the ongoing collaboration is quite possibly, the most perfect thing to come out of Australia since Nicole Kidman. The common thread in every collection is the obvious vintage horror influence, with Westcott portraying the archetypal femme fatale. The results are flawless, and both Hopeless and Westcott have the fans to prove it.
