Conor McGregor is at the top of the food chain in UFC, but he is untested in the world of professional boxing. Despite this, he believes he could handle duking it out with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a boxing match.
The two have been jawing at each other, taking shots via social media, and calling into question each other's abilities for months. It's one of the more interesting rivalries in combat sports, and with Conor's victory at UFC 205 to become a double champion, it has only intensified.
Both men raise fair points, Mayweather has been at the top of his sport for so long, it's almost insane to think about. He has also never lost a match, something McGregor has done. Then again, McGregor would love to prove his mettle in a boxing ring against Floyd, and it seems like Floyd is dodging his challenges.
Well, McGregor laid out his stipulations for fighting Mayweather in a boxing match. Let's just say he wants a nice chunk of change for the fight.
There you have it folks. He called Mayweather afraid of a real fight, so he'll do it on Mayweather's terms for $100 million. I don't know who is going to cough up that kind of money to make the fight happen, but that would certainly be a pay-per-view bout a LOT of people would spend good money on. Considering that Mayweather/Pacquiao grossed over $600 million, there is almost no way that this fight wouldn't make an insane amount of money even with the fighters demanding nine figure paydays.
Who wouldn't want to see this fight happen? Two titans of combat sports going at it, it sounds like a great inter-promotional cash cow.
